Just as Chaco Canyon, near the four corners area, is the hub in a network of intersecting ancient roads, the details of the tiny branches intersecting and overlapping in this drawing feel a bit more complex. The process of creating it was absorbing in the way that an intricate web can be.

The detailed drawing is done slowly and carefully with ink and brush over more loose brushstrokes in colour, combining control with expression, spontaneity with restraint. Putting ink to paper and observing what takes place sparks my imagination and reminds me that we are constantly unfolding with the universe.
